Dr. Julie Thums is a small town farm girl from northern Illinois, where she was active in athletics and student associations at Ashton High School. Dr. Thums attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL where she earned her B.A. in Pre-Med & Biology and found her love for optometry while working off campus at an eye clinic.
Dr. Betsy (Berends) Meinel was born and raised in Medford and attended the Medford Area Public Schools. Her undergraduate studies were done at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and she then attended the Illinois College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In addition to providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages, Dr. Meinel has a special interest in pediatrics, myopia control and contact lenses.
Dr. Mathew Mergenthaler was born and raised near La Crosse, WI. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and attended the Illinois College of Optometry where he received his Doctorate of Optometry graduating with clinical distinction.
Dr. Breanna Hoffmann (Ruesch), a native of Medford, attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she graduated with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she graduated with honors.
